AVT acquires VDS Vosskühler

Allied Vision Technologies says the acquisition of VDS Vosskühler strengthens its position as a global producer of industrial cameras with NIR and LWIR technologies.

German digital industrial camera manufacturerAllied Vision Technologies (AVT; Ahrensburg, Germany) has acquired 100% of the shares of camera producer VDS Vosskühler (Osnabrück, Germany). Effective immediately, the acquisition increases AVT’s portfolio with the addition of near-infrared (NIR) and longwave infrared (LWIR) camera technologies, as well as active camera cooling.

Incorporated in 1985, VDS Vosskühler specializes in the market segment outside of the visible light in the NIR (0.9-1.7 µm) and LWIR/thermography (8-14 µm) spectrum. The company also develops CCD cameras for visible light, focusing on customer-specific variations for OEMs.

Founder and owner Jürgen Vosskühler will hand over the position of CEO to Frank Grube, CEO of Allied Vision Technologies. Vosskühler will continue to support and advise the company, especially during the integration phase.
