NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE

Microscan (Renton, WA, USA), a global technology provider for track and trace solutions, introduces the newest solution for inspecting and verifying package label content, the VS-1 Track and Trace.

Today’s product packaging manufacturers must meet demanding requirements to ensure that date and lot codes and other data on package labels are correct in relation to the content of the package. This requirement applies in particular to pharmaceutical product packagers that are required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to check the content and legibility of date and lot codes, and are bound by Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to verify thatpharmaceutical packaging is correctly formed, i.e. that all seals and closures are intact and packages are correctly assembled.

Microscan’s VS-1 Track and Trace solution combines the VS-1 Smart Camera andVisionscape I-PAK Software with a complete set of lighting, optics and other accessories that are optimized for inspection of glossy labels and allow the user to implement a flexible verification system with minimum of cost and effort. Featuring a rugged IP67-rated smart camera and specialized integrated NERLITE lighting, the VS-1 Track and Trace uses powerful machine vision tools to read barcodes, perform advanced Optical Character Recognition and Verification (OCR and OCV), inspect labels for misalignment and skew, plus a variety of other critical label and product inspections. From pharmaceutical to food and beverage applications, the VS-1 Track and Trace meets demanding industry requirements for reliable, accurate and easily validated packaging inspection.
