Xenics opens US subsidiary for sales and support of infrared imaging products
European infrared imaging technology supplier Xenics (Leuven, Belgium), which develops and manufactures advanced IR detectors and customized imaging solutions covering the longwave-infrared (LWIR) to the visible realm, has broadened its market presence in North America. The newly founded Xenics USA Inc. is set to manage sales and application support for US and Canadian customers. Xenics USA is fully operational as of January 2011 and is headed by CEO Luc DeBrouckere, an industry expert with 35 years of managerial and technical experience in IR imaging.
Xenics had opened a sales and support office (sInfraRed Pte, Ltd.) in Singapore back in 2008 to expand its reach in advanced IR imaging equipment and customized solutions in Asia. Xenics USA, located near Boston, MA, has been commissioned to increase and facilitate sales, as well as offer direct local support, to industrial and institutional customers throughout the US and Canada.
Besides serving industrial customers, the US subsidiary is positioned to penetrate the growing market for security systems as well as the institutional and OEM markets for government projects.
"Our American customers are specifically interested in the range of shortwave and longwave cameras and advanced IR imaging systems that Xenics is able to offer,” says DeBrouckere. "We are pleased to serve them with our state-of-the-art infrared image capture and processing solutions for a variety of applications. It's important to us to comply with our customers' preference of receiving solid technical and application support through a US-based entity."
The product line marketed and supported by Xenics USA (a 100% subsidiary of Belgium-based Xenics nv) will include all products and solutions in the company's broad-based product portfolio.
"North America is a very important strategic market for us," says Xenics founder and CEO Bob Grietens, who is also president of Xenics USA. "Of course, we face tough competition. But Xenics is ready to tackle these challenges and to grow with new products and developments that need strong local support. I'm sure our US subsidiary will give a definite boost to our worldwide market share."
