Programming computer vision with Python

An associate professor from Lund University (Lund, Sweden) who is currently working and living in San Francisco has written a new book that highlights how to program computer vision systems using the Python programming language from the Python Software Foundation.

Python is free to use, even for commercial products, because of its OSI-approved open source license.

In his book entitled "Programming Computer Vision with Python", associate professor Jan Erik Solem describes many of the fundamental algorithms used in computer vision and explains how the reader can apply them to solve computer vision problems.

Code examples in the book can be used for purposes such as object recognition, content-based image retrieval, image search, optical character recognition, optical flow, tracking, 3-D reconstruction, stereo imaging, augmented reality, pose estimation, panorama creation, image segmentation, de-noising, as well as image grouping.
