USB 3.0 peripheral controller enables real-time transfer of uncompressed HD video

The EZ-USB FX3 USB 3.0 peripheral controller from Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has been chosen to provide the MonsterX U3.0R external video capture system with USB 3.0 bandwidth of 5 Gbps, which enables it to capture HD video.

The EZ-USB FX3 USB 3.0 peripheral controller from Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has been chosen to provide SKNET Corporation’s MonsterX U3.0R externalvideo capture system with USB 3.0 bandwidth of 5 Gbps, which enables it to capture HD video. This functionality allows users to capture and play black uncompressed HD video from various sources. The one-chip USB 3.0 peripheral controller is equipped with a configurable General Programmable Interface (GPIF II) which can be programmed in 8-, 16-, and 32-bit configurations with data rates as high as 400 Mbps. GPIF II enables the controller to interface directly with nearly any processor, ASIC, or FPGA.
