Microscan has announced the availability of its MINI HAWK Xi and MS-4Xi miniature barcode readers, which are reportedly the smallest, most lightweight imagers available with embedded Ethernet. Both imagers feature decode algorithms to read most any 1D/2D symbol, including direct part marks, and with Microscan’s X-Mode technology, the imagers can be easily integrated in most automation environments. The Xi imagers also include visible LED detectors, targeting laser pattern, "good read" green flash, and an EZ button for instant setup and configuration. MINI HAWK Xi imagers are suitable for use in assembly line manufacturing, component tracking, automotive, medical device, and semiconductor and electronics applications, and the MS-4Xi imager is suitable for use in clinical instruments, medical devices, and semiconductor and electronics applications.
