odos imaging’s real.iZ-1K vision system utilizes a pulsed method of laser illumination in which very short, intense pulses of invisible light (905 nm) are used to illuminate a scene. The intensity of the pulse minimizes the effect of ambient light and enables large distances to be measured. The 1.3 MPixel real.iZ-1K system features a pulse-based time of flight sensor, 1280 x 1024 pixels, 0.5m – 10m range, 50 fps frame rate, and user-defined resolution or region of interest. In addition, in features a GenICam GigE-compliant interface, and proprietary algorithms which convert detected pulses into a range measurement. The vision system is suitable for use in factory automation, transportation, security and surveillance, and media applications and will be showcased at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg, Germany from November 26-28, 2013.
