LightWorks Optical Systems has expanded its line of Owl-IR fixed focus radiometric objective lenses with the release of the new F/2 athermal MWIR lens. The lenses, which were on display for the first time at Photonics West 2014, are optimized for 1,280 x 1,024 pixel sensors and for a spectral range of 3 µm to 5 µm. Owl-IR F/2 lenses feature a narrow to wide field of view, an image diagonal of 24.5 mm, manual fine focus adjustment, and are available in four focal lengths: 50 mm, 75 mm, 100 mm, and 150 mm. In addition, the lenses feature an optional rugged hard carbon coating on the exterior lens surface for durability.
