Sofradir EC launches new miniature thermal imaging engines
Sofradir EC has announced the launch of a series of MiTIE miniature thermal imaging engines, the MiTIE MWIR-Scorpio and MiTIE MWIR-Leo, which are designed for OEMs looking to incorporate a small, lightweight, cooled camera engine into electro-optical systems. The thermal imaging engines feature a Mercury Cadmium Telluride (MCT) mid-wave integrated detector Dewar cooler assembly with 15 µm x 15 µm pixel size and a spectral response of 3.7 µm to 4.8 µm. The new MiTIE engines achieve frame rates of up to 120 fps (Scorpio), and 60 fps (Leo), and both models feature user-definable sub-windowing for higher frame rates. In addition, the engines include camera control and cooler electronics and produce corrected NTSC/PAL, HDMI, and 14-bit digital video output over Camera Link. Sofradir will showcase the new thermal imaging engines at SPIE DSS 2014 from May 5-9 in Baltimore, MD.
