Andor has announced the release of the iVac 316 OEM-dedicated camera, which features an active pixel area of 2000 x 256 and a back-illuminated CCD image sensor with 15 µm x 15 µm pixel size. The camera’ “Low dark current – deep depletion,” or LDC-DD technology builds on the benefits of traditional back-illuminated sensors, but offers an order of magnitude lower dark current. The camera features thermo-electric cooling down to -76°F for minimizing dark current and maximizing NIR photon collection, a quantum efficiency of up to 95%, a USB 2.0 connection, and a software development kit for integration into existing setups. Andor iVac 316 cameras are suitable for use in scientific research, industrial process control, and medical diagnostic imaging applications.
