Headwall has announced the release of the Hyperspec VNIR-SWIR sensor, which covered the 400-2500nm spectral range. The VNIR portion of the sensor is powered by a scientific CMOS image sensor and covers a wavelength range of 400 to 1000 nm with 1600 spatial channels and a spectral resolution of 5 nm. The SWIR portion of the sensor is powered by a Stirling-cooled MCT detector and covers a wavelength range of 950 – 2500 nm with 384 spatial channels and a spectral resolution of 10 n. The 15” x 15” x 8” sensor weighs less than 30 lbs., which includes its compact data system for sensor control and image acquisition. Hyperspec VNIR-SWIR sensors are suitable for integration into UAVs and fixed-wing aircrafts for military and defense or airborne remote sensing applications.
