Microscan has announced the release of the Vision MINI Xi industrial compact smart camera with embedded Ethernet, which is designed specifically for close-range industrial auto identification, inspection, and other machine vision applications. Vision MINI Xi cameras are available in three different 1/2" sensor models: A 750 x 480 pixel CMOS sensor with frame up to 60 fps, a 1280 x 1024 pixel CMOS sensor with a with frame up to 15 fps, or a 2048 x 1536 CMOS sensor with frame rate up to 5 fps. The cameras measure at just 1 in. x 1.8 in x 2.1 in and weigh just 3.2 oz. In addition, the cameras also feature embedded Ethernet and serial connectivity, a 24-volt interface, and optically isolated I/O in one package. The smart cameras also come equipped with AutoVISION machine vision software, making the camera suitable for use in situations where manufacturers need to read barcodes, but also require the flexibility to add additional inspection capabilities to their processes using a single hardware device.
