Basler expands operations in Asia with new Singapore manufacturing facility
In order to meet increasing demands for industrial cameras in the Asia Pacific market, Basler has announced the opening of a new facility in Singapore which will produce ace series cameras.
The production line was conceived and built in Germany and employees at the Singapore location were trained on-site at Basler’s headquarters in Ahrensburg before the line was shipped to Singapore. Each camera produced on the new line will be mechanically, optically, and electronically tested before it leaves the facility. In addition, the line incorporates automated sensor positioning to ensure that each unit is consistent and meet the quality standards established by the German facility.
Basler’s COO, Hardy Mehl, noted that Basler has invested the time and money to make sure that the new state-of-the-art facility will increase production capacity and lead to shorter lead times worldwide.
"This step will satisfy the growing demand of our Asia Pacific customers and importantly it will allow us to develop an even closer relationship with our customers," he said.
Basler ace cameras will begin to come off the production line in August of 2014. With the addition of a facility in Singapore, Basler now has locations in Germany, the United States, Taiwan, China, and South Korea.
