Cognex has released its latest generation of DataMan handheld direct part mark (DPM) barcode readers, the DataMan 8600 series. DataMan 8600 barcode readers feature a 1.3 MPixel CMOS image sensor and a new liquid lens that provides a larger depth of field. The 8600 series also combines 2DMax+ algorithms and Cognex UltraLight technology to read the mot challenge DPM codes on a variety of materials and surfaces. In addition, the DataMan 8600 series handheld readers provide Ethernet communication with industrial protocols, enabling seamless integration with factory automation equipment. These barcode readers are suitable for use in applications where manufacturers are implementing part traceability programs across the automotive, consumer electronics, aerospace, and oil and gas industries.
