Point Grey announces Chameleon3 USB3 Vision camera line
Chameleon3 cameras are the latest generation of USB3 Vision cameras from Point Grey that can easily be converted to a board-level version. The first three models in the line are the 1.3 MPixel CM3-U3-13S2 and CM3-U3-13Y3 cameras and the 2.8 MPixel CM3-U3-28S4. The CM3-U3-13S2 features a 1/3" Sony ICX445 CCD image sensor with a 3.75 µm x 3.75 µm pixel size while the CM3-U3-13Y3 features a new 1/2" ON Semiconductor Python 1300 CMOS sensor with a 4.8 µm x 4.8 µm pixel size. The 2.8 MPixel CM3-U3-28S4 features a 1/1.8" Sony ICX818 CCD sensor with a 3.69 µm x 3.69 µm pixel size. All of the cameras feature a global shutter sensor, compact 44 x 35 x 19.5 mm size, and flexible form factors such as different board-level and lens holder options. Chameleon3 cameras are suitable for use in machine vision and scientific imaging applications.
