EMVA adds new members, announces speaker for Business Conference

In its most recent monthly newsletter, the European Machine Vision Association provided a number of association updates, including the addition of two new members and the announcement of a speaker for its June business conference.

In its most recent monthly newsletter, the European Machine Vision Association provided a number of association updates, including the addition of two new members and the announcement of a speaker for its June business conference.

Both M.I.T. GmbH and Kolektor Orodjarna d.o.o were welcomed to the associated in March. M.I.T. (a separate entity from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) is described is a company that develops and sells precise optical measurement instruments that are used in manufacturing environments. Typical customers are end-users, tool-machine produces, and OEMs. Kolektor Orodjarna d.o.o. is an industrial production company that has been around for more than 50 years. It is a global company headquartered in Slovenia, with companies and subsidiaries located in Europe, the United States, and Asia.

In addition, the EMVA announced that Dr. Vassilis Tsagaris, CEO and co-founder of Irida Labs – Greece, will share his insight in embedded computer vision and heterogeneous computing at the EMVA Business Conference. At the conference—which will be held from June 11-13 in Athens, Greece—Tsagaris will discuss the two-way relationship between computer vision and industrial vision and also consumer products in embedded vision and factory automation.

Irida Labs is a start-up company in the fields of embedded computer vision and computational imaging. Vassilis holds a BSc in Physics and a PhD in information fusion and image processing from the University of Patras where he also worked as a post doc researcher.
