Xenics has announced the release of the Stirling-cooled XCO-640 mid-waveinfrared (MWIR) imaging core, which is designed for long-range monitoring applications like perimeter control, law enforcement, and homeland security. The XCO-640 features either an MCT or InSb 640 x 512 infrared detector with a 15 µm pixel size and a spectral band of either 3.7 to 4.8 µm (XCO-MCT-640), or 3.6 to 4.9 µm (XCO-InSb-640.) The core is built on a new platform with similar image processing features as the OEM modules XSW-640 and XTM-640, and features a rugged setup with several 22x zoom lens options, fully controllable via Serial Protocol. In addition, the infrared imaging core features additional analog output (PAL, NTSC) or HDSDI, in addition to GigE Vision and Camera Link interfaces.
