UVC version of compact USB 3.0 camera released by IDS

IDS Imaging Development Systems’ has released a USB Video Class (UVC) version of its USB 3.0 uEye XC camera, which now features platform-independent operation within Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating system platforms. The plug-and-play area scan camera features a 13 MPixel CMOS image sensor from Sony that has a 1.4 µm pixel size and can achieve a 30 fps frame rate. The UV-3013XC also has a number of auto features, including autofocus, auto gain, automatic white balance, and automatic backlight compensation. With the camera’s 32 x 61 x 19 mm dimensions and IP30 housing, along with the camera’s auto features, the camera is suitable for use in applications with changing ambient conditions, including logistics, transportation, access control, and kiosks.
