With the ability to acquire images from either a single dual-link CXP-6camera or two single-link CXP-6 cameras on a PC, the Cyton-CXP2 frame grabber from BitFlow is suitable for use in a range of different imaging applications. Each link on the frame grabber—which is a dual port version of its CXP board— supports standard CoaXPress bitrates up to 6.25 Gb/s. The frame grabber is based on BitFlow's PCIe Gen 2.0 platform featuring a Gen 2.0 PCIe x8 back end and with Power over CoaXPress, features 13W power over each CXP link. Additionally, it sends control commands and triggers to the camera at 20 Mb/S to simplify overall system integration. The Cyton-CXP2 also integrates BitFlow’s StreamSync system, consisting of a redesigned acquisition engine and buffer manager to support variable sized images with faster context switches between frames. Lastly, the Cyton-CXP2 can be added to an application through BitFlow’s SDK 5.9, which supports both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
