On February 22, the Embedded Vision Alliance and BDTI are offering a learning opportunity about deep learning using convolutional neural networks (CNNs).

Deep learning techniques, embodied in CNNs, promise to deliver outstanding accuracy on challenging computer vision problems. But how do CNNs work and how can you get started using them quickly?

This tutorial will focus on the use of CNNs for computer vision and the Caffe software framework, and will be presented by the primary Caffe developers from the Berkeley Vision and Learning Center.

Beginning with an introduction to the structure, operation, and training of CNNs and how they are used for computer vision, the tutorial explores the strengths and weaknesses of CNNs and how to design and train them. It then explores the popular Caffe open source framework through a series of hands-on labs on creating, training, and deploying CNNs.

The tutorial takes place on February 9 from 9 AM to 5:30 PM at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, Santa Clara, CA, USA. Vision Systems Design readers can use the promotional code “CNN16-VSD” for a 10% discount.
