On July 18 at the Hilton San Francisco, the AUVSI will host its first Startup Connection, which is focused on highlighting innovations in unmanned systems and robotics.

This 1-day event will bring together investors, channel partners, and OEMs with startups, new ideas, and new technologies in an interactive format combining demonstrations and presentations. Additionally, the event will offer “Matchmaker Speed Networking,” during which participants will be matched with vendor, investor, and partner prospects in pre-arranged, back-to-back, 10-minute meetings.

Early-stage companies in unmanned systems and robotics can use this event to learn about where the industry is headed, meet other people and companies in the industry, and network with others, according to AUVSI. Furthermore, demonstration tables will be setup during networking breaks to allow attendees to learn more about early-stage companies showcasing their technologies or products.

A market outlook address will also provide a look into the latest expert projections on the unmanned marketplace with insights into industry growth, customer demand, and evolving use cases, while a keynote address will highlight how Congress is working to ensure that entrepreneurs have access to capital and the resources they need to jumpstart their businesses.

An investment insights panel of startup investors, industry partners, and successful entrepreneurs, will discuss best practices for startups and investors alike. The interactive format panel will allow for participants to learn the finer details of startup investing, while being able to ask questions, share ideas, and engage in a conversation with the people who are "invested" in the unmanned vehicle and robotics market.

Derek Kerton, founder and Principal Analyst of The Kerton Group, is an industry expert in wireless technology, content, and applications with over 15 years industry experience who will act as the Conference Chair.
