When it comes to choosing the right camera for a particular application, one thing that should undoubtedly be considered is the camera interface. How much data will be transferred per second? What cable length do you require for your particular application? Are you looking to use multiple channels?

These questions and more will factor into the decision as to what camera interface is needed. While some might see USB3 as the eventual dominant standard, the fact remains that various camera interfaces still exist and are used for different reasons.
