MVTec to showcase HALCON 12 machine vision software at VISION 2014
MVTec will showcase its previously announced HALCON 12 machine vision software for the first time at VISION Show 2014 in Stuttgart from November 4-6. Among the new features of HALCON 12 is a new technology for text segmentation for OCR applications. This feature has an increased ability to distinguish characters— including slanted text or distorted character—from the background, for purposes of optical character recognition. HALCON 12 will also feature an enhanced interface programming environment, HDevelop, including support for event-based processing. In addition, MVTec’s new software will feature faster speeds, as it will utilize multi-core processors SSE2 and AVX, as well as GPU acceleration and AVX2, which will enable faster running times on state-of-the-art processors. Live demonstrations of the new software will take place at the VISION Show.
