Hyperspectral imager from Bodkin Design to be showcased at SPIE DSS

AtSPIE DSS 2015 from April 21-23, Bodkin Design & Engineering, LLC will showcase the capabilities of its VNIR-90 hyperspectral imager, which uses a patented HyperPixel Array (HPA) technology to combine spectral data with spatial information to create 3D hyperspectral "data cubes" in a single video frame. The imager achieves a frame rate of up to 60 fps and can acquire up to 25 cubes/s. The USB-powered imager also features a spectral range of 500-910 nm and an average spectral resolution of 3.9 nm/bin. The VNIR-90 can be deployed in a number of other applications. One such example is utilizing hyperspectral imaging for the identification of boats near military assets. In this project, the VNIR-90 was used to capture unique spectral signatures from the boats in order to facilitate automatic contact recognition and identification.

In addition, Bodkin Design’s HyperPixel Array microscope imager (pictured) fits the camera mount on any standard microscope and operates in two different modes. High speed provides video-rate data-cubes for real-time chemo imaging of biological processes, and high resolution produces hyperspectral data-cubes with long integration times.
