Vision standard updates addressed in latest AIA newsletter
In the April 2016Global Vision Standard updates, Bob McCurrach, AIA Director, Standards Development, provided a look at the latest in vision standards, including Camera Link, Camera Link HS, GigE Vision, and USB3 Vision.
Prior to delving into the individual vision standard updates, though, the newsletter provided some pertinent information on past and upcoming meetings. These include:
Spring 2016 International Vision Standards Meeting
Hosted by JIIA in Kyoto during the week of March 7, the Spring IVSM included Technical Committee meetings for GigE Vision, Camera Link, GenICam, USB3 Vision and CoaXPress; as well as a Future Standards Forum Meeting and a PlugFest. More than 100 attendees and 50 companies were presented, and those involved were able to take a historic tour of a traditional temple area in Kyoto.
Fall 2016 International Vision Standards Meeting
It was noted that the Fall IVSM will be hosted by Euresys in Liège, Belgium from October 10-14, 2016. A PlugFest will, as always, be held in conjunction with the meeting.
Standards highlights from the Vision Show China
From March 15-17 in Shanghai, CMVU and the Vision Show China hosted an International Standards Booth, where there were various standards demonstrations/information available on USB3 Vision, GigE Vision, Camera Link, Camera Link HS, Lighting Standard, IIDC2, Lens Standard, CoaXPress, and the latest work on Optical Connectors. There was also a G3 Meeting (cooperation group on global standards) where the group welcomed the China Machine Vision Union (CMVU) with an official signing ceremony. The CMVU hosted a dinner later that evening where Pan Jin, the President of the CMVU, gave a detailed presentation on the CMVU’s activities in 2015 and plans for 2016.
After this, the newsletter provided updates on the latest vision standards, including Camera Link, Camera Link HS, GigE Vision, and USB3 Vision.
