Eyes of Things embedded vision platform to be showcased at VISION 2016

Funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 (H2020) framework, the Eyes of Things (EoT) is a computer vision project consortium comprised of eight European partners that aims to build a tiny intelligent camera targeted at OEMs to provide a tool to develop visually intelligent products and services with short time-to-market.

Halfway into the three-year work plan, EoT is advancing towards a flexible, low-power embedded vision platform. Since the project started, two prototypes have been developed, with manufacturing of the latest iteration set to begin soon. The third and most recent board (mockup pictured) features a Myriad 2 vision processing unit from Movidius, as well as a low-power miniature camera, WiFi, IMU, flash memory, micro SD card, audio, JTAG, USB, GPIO, UART and MIPI connectors. An advanced PMIC unit is also included to allow for battery operated use and battery recharge. The latest EoT board will be showcased at VISION 2016.
