Adding to its portfolio of interline transfer electron-multiplying CCD (EMCCD)image sensors,ON Semiconductor has released the KAE-08152 sensor. The new EMCCD sensor shares the same 8.8 MPixel resolution and 4/3 optical format as the existing KAE-08151 sensor but incorporates an enhanced pixel design that doubles quantum efficiency for near-infrared wavelengths, such as 850 nm. Available in both Bayer color or monochrome, the sensor features a 5.5 µm pixel size, a 14-fps frame rate, and a dynamic range of 66 dB in normal mode (1x gain) and 86 dB in intra-scene mode (20x gain).
