The Robotics Industries Association (RIA) has reached 500 members, growing by 25% over the last two years, according to a new RIA report.
As of the end of July, the RIA had a total of 507 members. The RIA provides education, networking, and information to companies throughout the robotics industry ecosystem. Membership growth within the organization mirrors the growth in the robotics market worldwide. Global sales of industrial robots reached 380,550 units in 2017, which is a 29% increase compared to the previous year (294,300 units), according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).
"Our increasing membership is proof of the healthy robotics and automation industry, and we’re proud that we’ve built a world-class association that can cater to our growing membership," said Jeff Burnstein, president of RIA. "We look forward to continued growth and innovation in the robotics industry, and welcoming new members into our association."
The RIA’s premier robot safety event is taking place in Detroit, MI, USA at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center on October 9-11, 2018. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event, and as a result of a growing international attendance and perspective, RIA’s safety conference has been rebranded as the International Robot Safety Conference.
Additionally, the RIA will team with the AIA on the Collaborative Robots, Advanced Vision & Artificial Intelligence Conference, which will take place October 24-25, 2018 in Santa Clara, CA, USA.
