VISION 2021: The long-anticipated return of machine vision’s influential trade fair

VISION, taking place October 5-7 in Stuttgart, Germany, presents a tremendous showcase of machine vision products, applications, and industry discussions.

Originally scheduled in 2020 and delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, VISION returns next month to Messe Stuttgartt, held from October 5 through October 7, once more presenting the machine vision community with one of its most influential trade show exhibitions. The exhibitor list is available on the VISION website. More than 250 companies plan to attend, as of August, 2021.

More than 50 key exhibition areas for system components, applications, and services are planned for the conference space. Exhibition areas for smart, area scan, line scan, high-speed, infrared, and hyperspectral cameras; lenses, filters, and illumination; frame grabbers and hardware platforms; and software libraries and application packages are among the 27 dedicated spaces in the system components category.

VISION 2021 Product Preview

The list of 20 exhibition areas in the Applications section is equally diverse, with spaces for barcode, 2D code and barcode identification, and optical character recognition; quality, color, print, and surface inspection; and inline, 2D, and 3D robot vision. The services area includes spaces for research, design, and prototype development, technical literature, and training, among others.

The machine vision lecture forum, Industrial VISION Days, offers nine conference tracks:

·         3D

·         Hyperspectral

·         Vision Processing (Embedded Vision, IPC, GPU)

·         Software & Deep Learning

·         Standards

·         Applications

·         Start-up

The VISION Award 2021, that includes a €3,000 prize purse, will be awarded at the event.

Five theme parks will also be organized at the show. VISION Start-up World allows start-ups to present new innovations. The Integration Area connects system integrators and solution providers with potential clients. The VDMA Technology Days theme park connects young companies and proposals for research projects with industry and research representatives. Finally, the BMWi Gemeinschaftsstand presenst machine vision industry newcomers, hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
