GigE Vision interface cards optimized for use with Basler cameras

The new cards have advantages for network administration.
April 2, 2021

Basler offers seven GigE Vision interface cards featuring GigE interface. Standard cards are divided into 1 GigE cards with 1, 2, and 4 ports, and 10 GigE cards with one port. Premium cards include 1 GigE cards with 1, 2, and 4 ports and PoE.

The new cards use the MAC addresses from the same space as Basler cameras, which according to the manufacturer offers network management advantages such as restricting or limiting traffic for security purpose or better administration, like MAC address filtering. Vision-specific settings in the pylon SDK were taken into account for the interface cards, to increase their performance.
