Vision Components GmbH has launched the FPGA-based hardware accelerator VC Power SoM, which completes image processing calculations and transfers the results directly to a processor board. With dimensions of 28 x 24 mm, it can be integrated into embedded vision mainboard designs as a module or combined with an I/O board with multiple MIPI (mobile industry processor interface) interfaces. Using the VC Power SoM, OEMs can use the full computing power of their preferred embedded processor board for the main application. The module provides image processing such as color space conversions, barcode identification, and data fusion for stereo vision and multi-camera applications.
