MVTec Software GmbH has launched a subsidiary in France.
Operating out of an office in Lyon, France, employees at the new subsidiary will work with French-speaking customers in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
The goal is to provide sales and consulting services to customers seeking to incorporate MVTec’s software products in machine vision solutions and applications. “Machine vision is complex and technically demanding. This complexity results in a high demand for consulting,” says Martin Krumey, Vice President of Sales at MVTec (Munich, Germany; www.mvtec.com).
MVTec will also continue its relationships with existing sales partners, and they will also carry out sales activities.
When asked why the company made the investment in France, Krumey answers, “We assess France as one of the biggest machine vision markets in Europe with good growth potential. We see significant growth potential among corporations, small and medium-sized companies, integrators, and product and machine manufacturers.”
In addition to conventional markets such as mechanical engineering, Krumey says MVTec also expects growth in semiconductor and battery manufacturing as well as agriculture.
There will be two employees located in Lyon: Sales Manager Mack Dumont and Pre-Sales Engineer Martin Delabre. “We now have strong technical expertise close to the customer in France,” Krumey says. However, “our technical support will be provided by our technical support team at our headquarters,” he adds.
MVTec develops and markets HALCON, comprehensive software for machine vision, and MERLIC, machine vision software that does not require programming knowledge. The company also markets its Deep Learning Tool, which helps end users correctly label training data for deep learning algorithms.
In addition to Germany and France, the company also has locations in the United States and China.
