Inspection system checks display integrity A noncontact PC-based display inspection system, the LCI-Professional, performs production-line 8-bit monochrome and 24-bit color tests without programming on LCD, dot-matrix, seven-segment, and vacuum fluorescent displays for cellular phones, pagers, electronic organizers, calculators, radios, and entertainment devices. The tests cover short circuits, failed icons, back illumination failure, character-generator failure, open circuits, single-pixel faults, and poor-display contrast.
