Last year, Pleora’s Transcoder Gateway was launched as a proof of concept and subsequently won a a Vision Systems Design Innovation Award. Now, Pleora is shipping the product, which is GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, and GenICam compliant and automatically converts video from up to four GigE Vision (depending on the model) or up to two USB3 Vision cameras into H.264 compression format. Video is then transmitted over a wireless or wired connection to a playback device such as an embedded PC, tablet, smartphone or monitor. The Transcoder Gateway simultaneously receives video from up to four GigE Vision or USB3 Vision cameras for compression, retransmission, display, and archiving. The product, according to Pleora, can be used in such multi-camera applications as transportation, medical imaging, and military imaging.
