X-ray manufacturer in China introduces digital radiography solution with I-Acquire technology
DECEMBER 16--Cedara Software Corp. (Toronto, Canada; www.cedara.com), a developer of medical-imaging technologies for the health-care market, has signed a contract to supply its I-Acquire software to Beijing WanDong Medical Equipment Co., one of China's largest x-ray equipment manufacturers. The contract allows Wan Dong to deploy Cedara's I-Acquire software in its new digital radiography (DR) product. WanDong has successfully completed the installation of a number of the new DR systems in China.
Cedara's I-Acquire is a universal x-ray acquisition console software. The I-Acquire software interfaces with multiple x-ray acquisition devices, such as digital flat-panel detectors, as well as CR scanners and readers. This allows suppliers of DR and CR systems significantly more flexibility in creating custom-tailored solutions from third-party system components. I-Acquire features multiple control support, patient demographics, procedure input, intuitive image manipulation tools, and image enhancement algorithms that are automatically applied to optimize each clinical image, as well as much faster throughput for patient exams.
The transaction with WanDong is a total package solution that includes the I-Acquire software and the Cedara I-SoftView diagnostic workstation, which provides reporting, self-archiving, and information system integration scalable to meet any Picture Archiving and Communication System need.
