Cognex Corporation’s latest release of its In-Sight Explorer software offers an expanded set of inspection tools, including a surface flaw tool, which simplifies the detection of surface defects, including scratches, discoloration, burn/black spots, label wrinkles, small dents, tears, or pinholes. Another new feature is the scene correction filter, which balances images with uneven illumination to help present the defection tools with evenly lit images. In addition, In-Sight Explorer 4.9 works with Cognex Directory Server to centralize authorization and authentication control for all In-Sight vision system users, network wide, as part of the overall enterprise information security architecture. In-Sight Explorer software, when combined with previously released inspect edge and flexible flaw detection tools, is suitable for use in automotive, consumer products, electronics, and food and beverage inspection applications.
