An upcoming one-hour webinar presented by Alan Hwang, an image and video processing technical marketing specialist at The Mathworks (Natick, MA, USA), is to be held on Oct. 19, 2011 at 2:00pm British Standard Time (BST). Hwang will demonstrate how the company's Image Processing Toolbox and MATLAB software products can be used for image analysis, processing, visualization, and algorithm development.

He will demonstrate how image enhancement, feature detection, image segmentation, texture analysis, spatial transformations and image registration can be achieved.

New features of the software will be discussed and a product demonstration using geospatial imagery will show how to inspect an image at the pixel level, enhance its contrast, segment it into regions using a watershed transform, and choose regions of interest using morphological operations.

The webinar will also briefly discuss related products including the company's Image Acquisition Toolbox, Video and Image Processing Blockset, and Mapping Toolbox.

Readers can register for the webinar here.
