MARCH 4, 2008--Seidenader Maschinenbau, a supplier of automatic inspection machines for the pharmaceutical industry, and Optima Group have decided to combine the activities of their companies that specialize in the field of automation and control systems. Seidenader's former Software and Automation Center and Optima's Autocon have merged to form Seidenader Automation GmbH & Co. The new company will support line management solutions (SCADA), operator interface software, and track & trace systems. It will better meet the demands of the markets as integrator of Seidenader Vision products into Seidenader inspection solutions and Optima's machines, as well as an OEM partner in the Southern Germany pharma machine building region.

Local support to OEM partners, solution provider for software systems of Rockwell, Wonderware, and Intellution, and its role as an experienced vision integrator will give Seidenader Automation a competitive edge.

As of January 1, the team with 25 employees in Markt Schwaben, near Munich, and 20 employees in Schwäbisch Hall will operate under the management of Benno Macherhammer. "Joining forces will allow us to establish many of our products as an industry standard. The proximity to our OEM customers permits us to react quicker and to develop more customized solutions in the pharmaceutical industry."
