Applied Manufacturing Technologies acquires K-R Automation
MARCH 10, 2008--Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT; Orion, MI, USA;www.appliedmfg.com), a supplier of factory-automation design, engineering, and process consulting services, has acquired K-R Automation, a Warren, MI-based automation controls design, engineering, and panel-manufacturing company. The acquisition is effective immediately and is expected to enhance AMT's ability to meet growing customer demand for controls engineering, design, software, and panel fabrication.
K-R Automation will be folded into AMT's existing operations. AMT will maintain K-R's current manufacturing and engineering facility in Warren, MI. John Frank will assume a new role on AMT's executive team, reporting to Mike Jacobs.
Founded in 1989 by Michael Jacobs, AMT offers single-source engineering solutions to the automation and manufacturing industries. The company's service offerings range from design and simulation to programming, installation, and support of industrial automation solutions.
