Pleora Technologies offering one-day Innovation Conferences in Asia and Europe

Pleora Technologies has announced a series of three one-day conferences called the Pleora Technology Innovation Conference, which will focus on new technologies, global trends, and emerging market opportunities for vision applications.

Designed to deliver product knowledge and market expertise and to help vision system designers and integrators grow their business, the conference will include a number of different informative sessions. These include:

• Technology tips, best practices, and common pitfalls when delivering uncompressed, low latency video over wired and wireless Ethernet, 10 GigE, and USB 3.0
• Global trend discussions highlighting new market opportunities for vision systems and emerging customer demands
• New technology trends and system requirements, including live product demos of video interface solutions for real-time video transmission over GigE, IEEE 802.11 wireless, and USB 3.0

John Butler, Manager of Sales at Pleora, commented on a number of these topics, including 10 GigE and wireless technology, in a recent Q&A with Vision Systems Design.

When asked if there was a particular trend or product that he saw as the “next big thing” in the coming years, he said that he expected to see a continued demand for sensors with higher resolutions and frame rates, particular in applications such as semiconductor and flat panel inspection. He noted that the challenge is managing and processing the amount of image data that is generated, and that GigE Vision and 10 Gb/s is an ideal solution to enable vision systems to leverage network infrastructure and distribute image processing across multiple computers.

"In terms of what could be the next big thing," said Butler, "wireless technology is everywhere and it’s only a matter of time before it enters the industrial imaging space. With 802.11ac becoming more common, I believe manufacturers and integrators will start looking at this technology as a means to simplify some of their systems."

Kimm Krueger, Vice President of Marketing, Pleora Technologies, commented on the conferences.

"The emphasis for our conference is training and education, including technical sessions and case studies highlighting performance, cost, and usability advantages for designers and end-users," she said.

The conferences will be held in Tokyo, Japan (September 9), Beijing, China (September 11), and Frankfurt, Germany (October 9.)
