Kaya Instruments’ Chameleon CoaXPress camera simulator is capable of generating video streams and test patterns of up to four CoaXPress links in single, dual, and quad modes. Each link in the simulator supports standard CoaXPress bit rates up to 6.25 Gbps. In addition, the GenICam-compliant Chameleon features a 16 GB image buffer, an API for developing custom applications, a PCIe Gen 2 x4 half-length PCIe card, and supports Windows and Linux operating systems. The camera simulator is able to transmit generic test patterns, customer’s specified pre-processed data or custom video streams on the CoaXPress links and also provides GPIO for machine control signals. The Chameleon—which is immediately available—is suitable for use in the development of industrial, defense, and aerospacemachine vision systems and applications.
