JULY 7, 2009--The 14.7-Mpixel Inspec XL14 inspection station allows users to automatically capture images for detailed inspection. Designed to replace a 17 x11-in. flatbed scanner, the device captures an image as large as 15 x 11 in. at 300 dpi (a resolution of 4416 x 3312 pixels), capturing and processing the image in 2-3 s. A live preview, zoom capability, and adjustable angled lighting support high-quality image capture in less time. A locking x-y table keeps the inspected component in the center of the frame. For incoming material comparison, software systems will analyze and compare images to reveal any defects in seconds. In a high-volume environment, InspecXL can minimize the time spent on each inspected component. Complete systems are available and include PC, monitor, software, and InspecXL14 imaging station.

Inspec XL 14 High Resolution Vision Inspection Station

New Vision System Offers 14.7 Megapixel Resolution

July 1, 20009 - Complete Inspection Systems, Inc. has introduced a new 14.7-megapixel imaging station as part of their range of automated inspection systems for material inspection, product counting, product tracking, and anti-counterfeiting. This new 14.7-megapixed camera-based inspection system leverages the newest imaging technology with CIS' proven software solutions to dramatically speed up and simplify the inspection process.

Inspec XL14 allows users to automatically capture images for detailed inspection. Designed to replace a 17"x11" flatbed scanner, the device captures an image as large as 15"x11" at 300dpi (a resolution of 4416 x 3312 pixels), but can capture and process the image in just 2-3 seconds. A live preview, zoom capability and adjustable angled lighting means that Inspec XL14 can provide high-quality images in a fraction of the time a scanner would take to preview, scan and process an image. A locking X-Y table makes it easy for the operator to keep the inspected component in the center of the frame.

For comparing incoming materials, once an image is captured, software systems will analyze and compare the images to reveal any defects in seconds. The system combines speed and efficiency with ease of use and CIS' powerful, proven image comparison algorithm. In a high-volume environment, InspecXL can minimize the time spent on each inspected component, eliminating the 5-10 minutes of operator downtime involved in warming up, previewing, scanning and cropping a scanned image.

InspecXL14 offers a fast, accurate and simple method to ensure incoming printed materials are correct, and replaces cumbersome scanning systems. When used as part of an incoming materials inspection process, it can greatly reduce the total time spent on each article while ensuring total accuracy and compliance with design specifications. Complete systems, including PC, Monitor, Software and InspecXL14 Imaging Station start at under $8,000.
