FEBRUARY 6, 2009--LUXBEAM light engines are plug-and-play projection modules developed to lower the threshold for implementing DLP microdisplay technology into industrial and emerging applications. Six different models are currently available and include all electronics, optics, and light sources. Standard interfaces are DVI-D and USB, including other control connectors. LUXWARE software is pre-installed; customization is available to obtain other electrical or optical parameters. The engines offer pixel resolutions from XGA to 1080p, on- or off-axis optics as well as various lamp and LED configurations. All systems are based on Texas Instruments' DLP Discovery chipsets.

LUXBEAM DLP Light Engines
for industrial and emerging applications

VISITECH AS introduces a series of Light Engine reference systems for industrial and emerging DLP applications. The LUXBEAM Light Engines are plug and play projection modules, developed to lower the threshold of implementing TI-s DLP micro display technology into new scientific and industrial products.

The six new models of LUXBEAM Light Engines offer different pixel resolutions from XGA to 1080p and come with different typical light sources such as monochrome or RGB high power LEDs or UHP lamps. On- or Off-axis optics offers a variety different projection angles, fields of view and throw ratios.

VISITECH-s LUXWARE Software is pre-installed and makes these DLP light engine prototypes ready to go, straight out of the box into the product. The light engines include all electronics, optics and light source and provide DVI-D and USB standard interfaces as well as other control connectors. Customization is available to obtain other electrical or optical parameters.

The DLP Discovery chip sets from Texas Instruments, that build the heart of the LUXBEAM Light Engines, are extremely versatile and offer long product lifetime, excellent reliability and extended image control. They are specifically dedicated for use in industrial applications including fringe projection, lithography, rapid prototyping, 3D and auto stereoscopic displays, structured illumination, spectroscopy, medical and biotech systems and many more.

About Visitech AS
VISITECH AS is an independent DLP design house, providing reference design platforms and contract development services for projection and industrial imaging solutions. In addition, development services for light engine and projector front end electronics, system integration and prototyping services are offered. The origins of VISITECH are rooting back into the former projector manufacturer Davis AS, who had launched several generations of DLP projectors from the beginning in 1995 until 2001.

Since then the engineering team at VISITECH has cultivated the achievements in DLP product development and is continuously making the DLP technology find its way into new products and applications. The range of services is completed by extensive research and development activities in related fields like light sources, wireless transmission and data processing technologies.
