Silicon Software Wins Gold Award in Vision Systems Design 2017 Innovators Awards Program
Silicon Software GmbH, manufacturer of frame grabbers and intelligent image processing solutions, has been honored with a Gold level award for its hardware programming solution VisualApplets Embedder by the judges of the annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of recognized experts from system integrator and end-user companies. The innovation allows for greatly simplified programming of FPGA devices with individual image processing applications which in turn accelerates time to market availability.
Manufacturers of image processing platforms with FPGAs and SoCs use VisualApplets Embedder to program their hardware with the FPGA graphical development environment VisualApplets. VisualApplets enables manufacturers and end users to realize custom real-time vision applications on frame grabbers and any FPGA image processing devices such as cameras, vision sensors and scanners. By using the more than 200 operators, they can easily program even the most complex applications on FPGAs / SoCs without any HDL knowledge or to leverage the more than 80 included applets designs to start their projects. Compared to HDL programming, VisualApplets graphical development using data flow models is faster by factor 10 to 100 than traditional VHDL programming. To make image processing devices compatible with VisualApplets, a dynamic IP Core is created once within the FPGA device using the awarded VisualApplets Embedder.
Implementing image processing easily on FPGAs
With VisualApplets Embedder, imaging device manufacturers open their hardware platforms to create customized image processing applications and enable end users to create their own FPGA based developments that result in reduced data loads, reduced bandwidths, and reduced system costs in their projects.
"VisualApplets Embedder creates the most intelligent and economical path to a tailor made, efficient, and at the same time, flexible camera. For manufacturers of cameras and imaging devices, this solution opens fast access to new markets and business models, and users get application cameras that afford the highest possible individualization and investment security", highlights Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz, Managing Director of Silicon Software.
Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design (http://www.vision-systems.com) said "This prestigious program allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry. Our 2017 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry.
