SEPTEMBER 28--BittWare Inc. (Concord, NH;
www.bittware.com) has acquired EZ-DSP Limited, a privately held UK company. By acquiring one of the software developers for Analog Devices' TigerSHARC processors, BittWare has strengthened its position as a producer of COTS embedded computing solutions based on TigerSHARC technology for the military/defense, government, and commercial markets. Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, EZ-DSP is a center of excellence for the Analog Devices TigerSHARC Processors, offering custom software system development, as well as development tools and training.

"DSP development tools are vital to solving the time-to-market issues of today's design solutions," said Gerald McGuire, general manager, Media Platforms and Services Group, Analog Devices. "Adding EZ-DSP's TS-Lib optimized libraries for the ADSP-TS201 to BittWare's hardware offerings for the TigerSHARC strengthens BittWare's partnership to Analog Devices."

BittWare's new product line, based on the 600-MHz ADSP-TS201S TigerSHARC processor, features an innovative architecture called ATLANTiS (Advanced Transfer Link Architecture for New TigerSHARC) that has resulted in processing performance, I/O throughput, and flexibility that surpasses all other boards.
