Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) 10 Processing Pack 3 is a software update featuring a CPU-based, image classification module that enables the use of deep learning technology for machine vision applications. Leveraging convolutional neural network technology, the classification tool categorizes images of highly textured, naturally varying, and acceptably deformed goods, according to Matrox. The inference is performed exclusively by Matrox Imaging, written in code on a CPU, eliminating the need for third-party neural network libraries or specialized GPU hardware.

Additionally, the software update includes the addition of a photometric tool to bring out hard-to-spot surface anomalies (available within the Registration module) and a new dedicated tool to locate rectangular features (available in the Geometric Model Finder module).
