MVTec Software GmbH has launched MERLIC 5.6, the latest updated version of the company's no-code machine vision software. Merlic 5.6, like its preceding versions such as Merlic 5.5, which was released in Feb. 2024, is a no-code, “all in one” software package. This latest version increases user connectivity by continuing with the REST plug-in for extended REST-API access, as well as adds a plug-in that communicates with Siemens SIMATIC S7 PLCs.
The Merlic 5.6 software edition also adds several new machine vision tools, including “Count With Deep Learning”, a tool that enables counting many objects quickly; “Segment Image Pixel-Precisely”, which makes it possible to localize trained defect classes with pixel precision; and “Recognize Color,” which enables users to recognize colors under various conditions. In addition, the software features new methods such as “Reconstruct Surface with Photometric Stereo”, quality control for 2D data codes, and “Global Context Anomaly Detection” deep learning technology.
Designed for easy integratation, Merlic 5.6 is especially designed for those who have limited or no experience in machine vision.
