Gilching, Germany—SVS-Vistek GmbH plans to acquire 100% of the shares in Mikrotron GmbH with a retroactive date of January 1, 2022.

Both companies, which sell products for machine vision applications, are owned by TKH Group NV, based in Haaksbergen, the Netherlands. TKH Group focuses on advanced technology in three areas: smart vision systems, smart manufacturing systems, and smart connectivity systems. TKH’s portfolio of vision technologies also includes Allied Vision, Chromasens, LMI Technologies, and Tattile. The company announced its acquisition of Nerian Vision GmbH in July.

TKH Group acquired Mikrotron in 2018 as part of its acquisition of Lakesight Technologies, and it acquired SVS-Vistek in 2019.

Founded in 1976, Mikrotron, based in Unterschleissheim, Germany, is a manufacturer of small high-speed cameras as well as high-speed recording systems. Meanwhile, SVS-Vistek, which has operated in the machine vision market for 35 years, sells industrial cameras and individual components for custom machine-vision solutions.

In a news release, the companies said, “Mikrotron and SVS-Vistek have complementary product portfolios that, when combined, will now open up even more comprehensive opportunities for customers. The new lineup is expected to create synergies for the development and deployment of high-end cameras in particular.”

All existing Mikrotron employees will join SVS-Vistek, and the combined company will have more than 90 employees.

Mikrotron cameras will continue to be developed, produced, distributed, and supported under the Mikrotron brand, SVS-Vistek said.
