SICK recently launched a new generation of its Ruler 3000 3D camera line. The cameras are suited to industrial applications, especially in the electronics and semiconductor industries. Powered with a 3D CMOS sensor, the cameras can deliver accurate measurement values down to .8 µm in height with a resolution of 3200 data points per profile. The modular industrial design cameras are rated IP65/67 and can provide 3D profiles at up to 46 KHz in reduced ROI, and are GigE Vision and GenlCam compliant. With its compact design, high light sensitivity and factory calibrated camera, Ruler 3000 can be used in such industries as electronics, timber/lumber, and logistics, for applications such as tablet and cellphone assembly inspection, tire quality control, battery weld seam inspection, packaging control, inline food inspection, board inspection and 3D log measurement, article identification, and robot guided inspection.
