Sony’s next generation FCB-EV9520L block camera is now available. The camera, based on the company’s 2MP StarvisTM 2 color image sensor, supports full HD (1080p/60) resolution. It has a wide dynamic range, 30x optical zoom and a 64° horizontal viewing angle. The photodiode layer in each cell is deeper than conventional optoelectronic arrangements so the camera has strong near infrared (NIR) performance and works in ultra-low light conditions (0.009l-0.00008lx) when IR cut-filter removal (ICR) is activated. The camera can simultaneously zoom and focus with minimal defocusing activity, even when exposed to high vibrations. When in Super + mode, it can maintain HD quality and reduce blur by increasing the correction area. The FCB-EV9520L can be used in various applications, including infrastructure inspection, surveillance/security, livestock monitoring, and aquaculture. It also provides visual data to help in controlling aerial drones, underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and automated mobile robots (AMRs). Each camera has LVDS interface incorporated for system integration.
